Usage

Use this window or tab to view or modify serials. You can view information on the serials that have the VIM connection, and all the serials including scrapped serials.

Select the Change Maintenance Program right mouse button option to change the current maintenance program of a serial that has the In Operation or Out Of Operation status. The maintenance program along with the maintenance group determines which maintenance program should be used for the serial.

Select the Set Current Stress Rating right mouse button option to set the current stress rating for the selected serial.

Select the Operational right mouse button option to set the selected serial Operational. This performs the same function as the Set Serial Structure Operational option except that it does not handle the entire structure, just the selected serial. This option is enabled if the serial is not scrapped, locked or quarantined and the operational condition of the serial is set to Non Operational.

Select the In Operation right mouse button option to set the selected serial to In Operation. This performs the same function as the Set Serial Structure In Operation option except that it does not handle the entire structure, just the selected serial. It is required that all serials in the structure fulfill the requirements before the serial can be changed to the In Operation status.

Right-clicking and clicking Out of Operation performs the same function as the Set Serial Structure Out of Operation option except that it does not handle the entire structure, just the selected serial.

If access control is established, you can only view and update the serials to which you have access. To establish access control, access groups must be defined in basic data, and the preferred users must be connected to the access group. All the users who are members of an access group will have access to the serials defined for the selected access group.

You can connect documents and characteristics to a serial in Attachments. When a serial is deleted, only the connections to the attached documents and characteristics will be deleted. If you wish to delete the documents you will need to manually remove it in IFS Document Management.
