Set Serial in Quarantine

Explanation

This activity is used to set a serial in quarantine, which sets the serial out of operation. Note that, quarantine is not as strict as setting a serial to locked.

Prerequisites

• A serial must have an operational status of In Operation or Out Of Operation.

System Effects

• The Quarantined check box is selected for the serial.
• When a serial is quarantined, the operational status is automatically set to Out Of Operation.
• The structure of the serial remains unchanged.
• A history record is generated for the quarantined serial in the Part Serial History window.
• A serial in quarantine cannot have its operational status changed to In Operation.
• A serial in quarantine cannot have its operational condition changed to Operational.
• The maintenance group for a serial in quarantine cannot be changed.

Procedure

1. Open the Serial Structure Information window and query (F3) for the necessary serial. 
2. Click the General tab.
3. Right-click on the tab, point to Status, and then click Quarantine. The Quarantine Remark dialog box opens.
4. Enter a quarantine remark and click OK. The Quarantined check box is selected.
