Plan and Create Maintenance Order—Exercises

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to show you how to execute pending tasks. There are 3 optional methods of task execution:

Task Distribution - 1

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to handle tasks that have been generated by interval maintenance, condition based maintenance and modification pre-check.

Prerequisites: Before starting on this exercise you must have finished the Condition Monitoring 2 exercise.

Windows:
Task Distribution

  1. Open the Task Distribution window.
  2. Query for the top serial number nX20000.
  3. Click the Pending Tasks tab and verify that there are 4 pending tasks (two with the Intervalmaint task type, one with the On-Condition task type and one with the Modification task type).
  4. Select the Include Task? check box for all of them except the interval maintenance for the Nose Landing Gear.
  5. Select the Simplified Work Order distribution type and the workshop code nLAX-C.
  6. Save (F12).
  7. Select the Include Task? check box for the remaining task.
  8. Select the Work Order distribution type and the workshop code nLAX-C.
  9. Save (F12).
  10. The tasks will disappear from the Pending Tasks tab (and appear in the Tasks Currently Assigned to Orders tab).
  11. Click the Tasks Currently Assigned to Orders tab and verify that the tasks have the Released status.
  12. Continue with exercise Simplified Order Processing - 1.

Task Distribution - 2

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to handle a fault task which is to identify the reason for vibrations in the nose landing gear.

Prerequisites: Before starting on this exercise you must have finished the Faults and Events -1 exercise.

Windows:
Task Distribution

  1. Open the Task Distribution window.
  2. Query for the top serial number nX20000.
  3. Click the Pending Tasks tab and verify that there is one task due with the Serial Repair task type.
  4. Select the Include Task? check box.
  5. Select the Simplified Work Order distribution type and the workshop code nLAX-C
  6. Save (F12).
  7. Continue with exercise Simplified Order Processing - 2.

Task Distribution - 3

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to handle task being generated because of Modification Inspection and Fault.

Prerequisites: Before starting on this exercise you must have finished the Operation Logging - 3 and Faults and Events - 2 exercises.

Windows:

  1. Open the Task Distribution window.
  2. Query for the top serial number nX20000.
  3. Click the Pending Tasks tab and verify that there are 2 tasks due (one with the Serial Repair task type and one with the Modification task type). 
  4. Select the Include Task? check box for these two tasks.
  5. Select the Simplified Work Order distribution type and the workshop code nLAX-C.
  6. Save (F12).
  7. Continue with exercise Simplified Order Processing - 3.

Task Distribution - 4

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to handle task being generated because of interval due (A-check), modification inspection and post check for the serial repair.

Prerequisites: Before starting on this exercise you must have finished the Operation Logging - 4 exercise.

  1. Open the Task Distribution window.
  2. Query for top serial number nX20000.
  3. Click the Pending Tasks tab and verify that there are 4 tasks with due date passed (two with the Interval Maint task type, one with the Modification task type and one with the PMC Serial Repair task type).
  4. Select the Include Task? check box on 3 of the tasks (Interval Maint for the A/C, Modification and PMC Serial Repair).
  5. Select the Simplified Work Order distribution type and your workshop code nLAX-C.
  6. Save (F12).
  7. Select the Include Task? check box for the remaining task.
  8. Select the Work Order distribution type and the workshop code nLAX-C.
  9. Save (F12).
  10. Continue with exercise Simplified Order Processing - 4.

Task Distribution - 5

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to handle task being generated because of interval due (A-check, Overhaul and Replacement) and modification due (Wheel Axle modification/replacement).

Prerequisites: Before starting on this exercise you must have finished the Operation Logging - 6 exercise.

  1. Open the Task Distribution window.
  2. Query for top serial number nX20000.
  3. Click the Pending Tasks tab and verify that there are 5 tasks with due date passed (four with the Interval Maint task type and one with the Modification task type).
  4. Select the Include Task? check box all of the tasks.
  5. Select the Simplified Work Order distribution type and your workshop code nLAX-C.
  6. Save (F12).
  7. Continue with exercise Simplified Order Processing - 5.

Task Distribution - 6

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to handle the generation of a modification task which leads to a part identity change. 

Prerequisites: Before starting on this exercise you must have finished the Modification Program leading to Part Identity Change exercise.

  1. Open the Task Distribution window.
  2. Query (F3) for the top part number X747-900 and top serial number nX30000.
  3. Click the Pending Tasks tab and verify that a modification task with the task code nRENMOD, Modification task type and where the Due Date is passed exists.
  4. Select the Include Task? check box for this modification task record.
  5. Select the Simplified Work Order distribution type and workshop code nLAX-C.
  6. Save the record (F12).
  7. Continue with exercise Simplified Order Processing - 6.
