Performing Condition Monitoring—Exercises

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of these lessons is to learn how to do condition measurement. If condition values exceed specified limits a corresponding maintenance task is generated and must be executed.

Condition Monitoring - 1

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to log the condition status of the Wheel Tread on the Nose Landing Gear to see if it is time for maintenance. The measuring gauge shows a value of 17 millimeters. The purpose of this lesson is to log condition values and check if a maintenance task should be generated.

Windows:
Serial Operational Information

  1. To be able to find the serial number for your wheel open the Serial Operational Information window and query for your A/C, Serial Number nX20000.
  2. Click the Condition Meas. in Structure tab, select the record for Part Number = X32WHE7002, right-click and click Serial Operational Information.
  3. Click the Condition Meas tab.
  4. Enter 17 in the Measure Value field and save (F12). 
  5. Do you get any message of task creation (there should not be)

Condition Monitoring - 2

Purpose: With your A/C on ground it is time to do a new check of the condition status of the Wheel Tread on the Nose Landing Gear. This time the measuring gauge shows a value of 12 millimeters. The purpose of this lesson is to log condition values and check if a maintenance task should be generated.

Windows:
Serial Operational Information

  1. To be able to find the serial number for your wheel open the Serial Operational Information window and query for your A/C, Serial Number nX20000.
  2. Click the Condition Meas. in Structure tab, select the record for Part Number = X32WHE7002, right-click and click Serial Operational Information.
  3. Click the Condition Meas. tab.
  4. Enter 12 in the Measure Value field and save (F12). 
  5. Do you get any message of task creation (there should be !!)
  6. Go to exercise Task Distribution-1
