To set up the basic data required for this exercise,
you can do one of the following:
- Set up the individual basic data as defined
below, or
- Use one of the predefined users: EAM1 to EAM15.
If you use the second option, make sure that the user
you select is connected to a default company, default site, maintenance
organization (inclusive of the maximum load level), and a craft with the values
given below.

Set up a Maintenance Employee in
IFS Human Resources
Purpose: The purpose of this
exercise is to set up a maintenance employee in IFS Human Resources. You can use
this employee in place of the predefined users to perform a search when IFS
Human Resources is installed.

Enter Operation lines and Tool and Facility lines in
PM actions and work orders
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set
up operation and tool and facility lines in PM actions and work orders.
- Create a work order and or a Separate PM action.
- Enter Operation lines and Tool and Facility lines
in PM actions and work orders.
- For work orders, employees should be allocated to
the operation line (either single or multiple allocations).

Main Exercise
Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to
define search criteria in order view details in the Resource Allocation Gantt
window and to customize the view.
Windows:

Define Search Criteria
- Open the
Resource Allocation Gantt window.

Press F3. The
Search Resource dialog box appears.

The default site of the user will be displayed
in the Site field. Click List if you want to change the value.
- Specify values for the following
fields based on your requirement. Click List to select the value
where applicable.

Note: You can use the Frame Settings area to define the
resolution of the graph, i.e., whether you want to view the details on the
graph on an hourly, weekly or daily basis and the time range.
Search for work orders and PM actions
- Once you have performed the search above click
Query, located near the Show Filter check box.
- Enter the relevant information and click OK.
Filter Details
Note: Once the details are displayed you can
further customize the view by filtering the results from the search.
- To filter details in the 1st graph, specify values
in one or more of the following fields: Maint. Org., Resource Type,
Craft and Tool/Facility Type. Furthermore you can select one
or more of the following check boxes: Corrective, Preventive,
Planned, and Route.
- To filter
the details of the 2nd graph specify details in one or more of the following
fields: Maint. Org., Craft and Resource Type.
Re-plan, Reschedule and Allocate Resources
To re-plan and reschedule:
- Select a horizontal bar (corresponding to the
resource you have selected) from the first graph.
- Drag and drop to the required timeslot to move the
activity through time.
- Resize the bar if you want to change the duration
of the activity. Alternatively double-click on the bar, enter the required
dates in the dialog box that appears and click OK.
- Save the information (F12).
To allocate:
- Important step: Select Not Allocated in the
Show Work list in the second sub window.
- Select a bar (corresponding to the work order or
PM action you created) from the second graph.
- Drag and drop the bar to a timeslot against the
relevant resource.
- Enter the hours that should be allocated to the
resource in the
Hours To Be Allocated dialog box and click Add.
- Save the information (F12).
At the end of the steps verify that the changes made in
the Resource Allocation Gantt is reflected in the applicable
window (Prepare Work Order,
Report In Route,
Separate PM Action).
