Setup Maintenance Employee in HR—Exercises

Basic Data Setup

IMPORTANT
It is extremely important that you are logged in as applications owner SAMI when entering the required data in the Human Resources executable.

HR Organization

Purpose: Describe how a company is organized from a financial point of view.

Purpose: The position structure, is used to describe ho the company is organized hierarchically, and defines also the authority structure.

Purpose: The wage codes are used to define the types of times for employees to label their hours when they are present or absent. The wage class is a set of wage codes.

Required Data

Maintenance Employee

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create a maintenance employee.

Windows
Organization Basic Data /Employees

  1. Open the Organization Basic Data/Employees.
  2. Create a new record and from the List of Values select an signature, e.g., EAM1 through EAM15 provided by your teacher.
  3. In the Maint. Org. field, select the maintenance organization 1500, Construction Department. Use the List of Values.
  4. Save the record.

Main Exercises

Enter Employee Name in HR

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show how to give the employee a name in HR.

Windows:
Employee

  1. Open the Employee/Personal window.
  2. Click Query Dialog (F3) and enter a signature/person ID provided by your teacher from EAM1 through EAM15, and click OK.
  3. Enter your first and last name in the Name field.
  4. Save the record.

Create HR Employee

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create an IFS HR employee.

Windows:
Employee

  1. Open the Employee window.
  2. Query (F3) for the signature or the person ID provided by your teacher (from EAM1 - EAM15).
  3. Click the Employee/Employment/Periods tab and create a new record (F5).
  4. Enter the first date of the current month in the Start Date field.
  5. Select Full Time as the Employee Type and enter std1 as the Agreement ID.
  6. Save the record.

Connect Employee to HR Position

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show how to connect an employee to a position.

Windows:
Employee

  1. Open the Employee window.
  2. Query (F3) for the signature or the person ID provided by your teacher (from EAM1 - EAM15).
  3. Click the Employee/Employment/Assignments/Positions tab and create a new record.
  4. Enter SM as the Position ID. Use the List of Values to select the correct value.
  5. Select Employee as the Assignment Type.
  6. In the  Valid From field, enter the first date of the current month.
  7. In the Valid To field, enter a value less than 2049-12-31.
  8. Save the record. (If you get a warning message, click Yes.)

Connect Employee to Schedules and Rules

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show how to connect an employee to schedules and rules.

Windows:
Employee

  1. Open the Employee window.
  2. Query (F3) for the signature or the person ID provided by your teacher (from EAM1 - EAM15).
  3. Click the Employee/Employment/Assignments/Schedules tab and create a new record (F5).
  4. Enter the following values in their respective fields: EAM in Wage Class, EAM-NORMAL in Schedule and 1 in Shift.
  5. Save the record. (If you get a warning message, click Yes.)

Verify Employee Available Time

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show how to verify the resource graph.

Windows:
Load Distribution by Employee

  1. Log on the Maintenance executable.
  2. Open the Parameters for Employee Resources window.
  3. Enter a signature ID for the previously connected employee and click OK.
  4. Verify the that the resource graph displays available time.

Connect Employee to Time Management

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show how to connect an employee to Time Management.

Windows:
Time Registration Employee Time Base

  1. Open the Time Registration Employee Time Base window.
  2. Click New (F5).
  3. Click List of Values (F8) and select the same employee number as above.
  4. Tab to the Time Base field and select Job hour controlled wage hours. 
  5. Save the record.
