Basic Data Setup
Work Processing
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show
you how to set up the basic data required for the following exercises.
- Set up the work processing basic data.

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to set up the
data required for the following exercises
- Create a new inventory part XX-IP (where XX are your initials) to be
used for the work order.
- Receive 100 pcs of this part into inventory.

Serial Object
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to set up the
data required for the following exercises
- Create a new serial object from a serial tracked part. Ensure that
condition code handing is activated for this part to be used for the work
order.

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to set up the
data required for the following exercises
- Create a new functional object to be used for the work order.
- Add 2 test points and 2 parameters to this object.

Create Work Order
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to set up the
data required for the following exercises
- Open the Service Request window.
- Create a new record. (F5)
- Enter OIL LEAKAGE in the Directive field.
- Enter the functional object you created in the Object ID field.
- Enter the maintenance organization to which the employee registering the
work order is connected.
- Enter values in the following fields:
- Contact
- Phone number
- Work Type
- Priority
- Customer No
- Address (customer address)
- Coordinator
- Start Date (current date)
- Finish Date (2 days ahead)
- Save the record. (F12)
Plan and Prepare Work Order
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to set up the
data required for the following exercises
- Open the Prepare Work Order window.
- Query for the work order that you created. (F3)
- Right-click, point to Work Order Status, and then click Under
Preparation.
- Click the Operations tab.
- Enter 2 operations with different descriptions, the same user in the
Reported By field, and 1 in the Planned Hour field for both
records.
- Save the record. (F12)
- Click the Materials tab.
- Create a new material requisition record. (F5)
- Save the record. (F12)
- Create another material requisition record and enter the part no XX-IP
(where XX are your initials). Enter the current date in the Date Required
field and enter 1 in the Quantity Required field.
- Save the record. (F12)
- Click the Tools and Facilities tab.
- Create a new record and enter 1 in the Planned Quantity field, 1 in
the Planned Hours field and select a suitable sales part. Connect
this record to the first operation line using the List of Values in the
Operation No field.
- Save the record. (F12)
- Click the Planning tab.
- Create a new record.
- Select Expense in the Work Order Cost
Type field, enter 1 in the Quantity field, 200 in the Cost
field and select a suitable sales part.
- Save the record. (F12)
Change Status to Released
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to set up the
data required for the following exercises
- Open the Prepare Work Order window.
- Query for the work order that you created. (F3)
- Right-click, point to Work Order Status, and then click Released.
Main Exercise
Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to report in the
work done on the work order.
Change Status to Started
- Open the Single Page Report In Work Order page.
- Query
for the work order that you created.
(F3)
- Click Started.
View/Change Work Order Address
- Open the Single Page Report In Work Order page.
- Query
for the work order that you created.
(F3)
- Click WO Address.
- Add a new address or modify the existing address and click OK.
Print Work Order
- Open the Single Page Report In Work Order
page.
- Query for the work order (F3).
- Click
Print.
- Click
Preview and preview the work order before printing.
- Click
Print to confirm the operation.
Report in Demands
- Open the Single Page Report In Work Order page.
- Query
for the work order that you created.
(F3)
- In the Demand section, enter 1 in the Quantity To Report in
field of the record.
- Save the information. (F12)
Change Status to Work Done
- Open the Single Page Report In Work Order page.
- Query
for the work order that you created.
- Click Work Done.
Report in Action
- Open the Single Page Report In Work Order page.
- Query
for the work order that you created.
(F3)
- Enter Damaged Oil Seal in the Cause Details field.
- Enter
Replace Oil Seal in the Work Done field.
- Enter Loosened the Flange
Bolt and Removed the Existing Oil Seal and Replaced with New Oil Seal in the
Work Details field.
- Enter values for the Class, Type,
Performed Action and Cause fields. Use the List of values to
select the values.
- Enter the current date in the Actual Start
field.
- Enter the
current date in the Actual Finish field.
- Save the
information. (F12)
Report in Time
- Open the Single Page Report In Work Order page.
- Query for the work order that you created. (F3)
- In the Resources table, enter 1 in the Hours field for
both the operations you planned in the Prepare Work Order
window.
- Save the record. (F12)
- Ad-Hoc work (not planned) can be handled by creating a new record in
Resources section.
- Enter 2 in the Hours field.
- Enter your own employee ID in the Employee ID field.
- Save the record. (F12)
- Update the sales part information for this additional time line by
right-clicking and clicking Manage Sales Revenue.
Report in Tools and Facilities
- Open the Single Page Report In Work Order page.
- In the Resources table, enter values in the Hours field
for the relevant tools/facilities entered in the Prepare Work Order
window.
- Save the record. (F12)
Report in Expenses/External Costs
- Open the Single Page Report In Work Order page.
- Query for the work order that you created. (F3)
- In the Others table, enter 1 in the Hours/Qty field.
- Enter some text in the Comment field.
- Save the record. (F12)
Place Serial in Structure
- Open the Single Page Report In Work Order page.
- Query
for the work order that you created.
(F3)
- Click Place Serial in Str. The Place Serial in Equipment
Structure for Work Order window opens.
- Click List and select a part number and click OK.
Enter Measurement
- Open the Single Page Report In Work Order page.
- Query
for the work order that you created.
(F3)
- Click
Measurements.
- Enter
measurements on the table as required.
- Save the
record (F12).
Change Status to Reported
- Open the Single Page Report In Work Order page.
- Query
for the work order that you created.
(F3)
- Click Reported.
Authorize Transactions
- Open the Single Page Report In Work Order page.
- Query for the work order that you created. (F3)
- Click Authorize.
Invoice Transactions
- Open the Single Page Report In Work Order page.
- Query for the work order that you created. (F3)
- Click Invoice.
Change Status to Finished
- Open the Single Page Report In Work Order page.
- Query
for the work order that you created.
(F3)
- Click Finished.
Create Work Order for Additional Work
- Open the Single Page Report In Work Order page.
- Create a new record. (F5)
- Enter Additional Filter Adjustments in the Directive field.
- Enter the serial object created earlier in the Object ID field.
- Save the record. (F12) (This work can now be planned in the usual way in
the
Prepare Work Order window by the planner.)
- Click Released.
Note: The Maint.Org field is a mandatory hidden field in the
Single Page Report in Work Order page and a value can be entered by
configuring the page. However, this field will receive a value by default if the
employee reporting the work order is connected to a maintenance organization.
Change Condition Code
- Open the Single Page Report In Work Order page.
- Query for the work order with the serial object. (F3)
- Click Change Condition Code. The Change Condition Code
dialog box is opened.
- The part number, part description, serial number, lot batch number, and
the current condition code and description appears automatically.
- Click List.
- Select the new condition code from the List of Values.
- Click OK to accept the new condition code value.
