Basic Data Setup

To set up the basic data required for this exercise, you can do one of the following:

If you use the second option, make sure that the user you select is connected to a default company, default site, maintenance organization (inclusive of the maximum load level), and a craft with the values given below.

Maintenance Organization 

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set up the basic data required for this function.

Set up a Maintenance Employee in IFS Human Resources

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set up a maintenance employee in IFS Human Resources. You can use this employee in place of the predefined users to perform a search when IFS Human Resources is installed.

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to learn how to search for an employee or tool and facility. 

Windows:

Prepare Work Order
Free Time Search

The Free Time Search window can be accessed from many places depending on your requirement.

Search for a Single Resource

  1. Open the Prepare Work Order window and create a new work order.
  2. Right-click on the Prepare Work Order window and then click Free Time Search. The Free Time Search window opens.

Note: Observe that since the search was invoked from the Prepare Work Order window, the site and the maintenance organization is retrieved automatically. The same applies to the Earliest Date/Time and Latest Date/Time fields (which corresponds to the Planned Start and Planned Finish dates on the Prepare Work Order/Prepare tab respectively). If these dates are not present on the Prepare Work Order/Prepare tab, the system date is displayed by default. The Employee resource type is displayed by default, regardless of from where the search is invoked. You can change the resource type as required. 

  1. Enter 2 in the Execution Time field.
  2. Enter the following values in the relevant fields. Note: Entering values in all three fields is not required. You can select the fields for which you want to enter a value based on your requirement.

  1. Select the Exclude Schedule check box if the employee is not connected to IFS Human Resources.
  2. Click Search.
  3. On the Free Time Search/Results tab, select a result line, right-click and then click one of the following options. 

Note: To search for tools and facilities, change the resource type to Tools and Facilities and follow the same steps. You can use the following values.

Modify Planned Resources According to the Search Result

  1. Query for the work order created in the previous exercise.
  2. Click the Operations tab, select the operation line, right click and then click Free Time Search. The Free Time Search window opens. The window will be populated with the details related to the operation line.
  3. Change the values in the Earliest Date/Time and Latest Date/Time fields.
  4. Enter 4 as the execution time.
  5. Select the Exclude Schedule check box if the employee is not connected to IFS Human Resources.
  6. Click Search.
  7. On the Free Time Search/Results tab, select the result line, right-click and then click Modify Work Order.
  8. Go back to the work order and look at the operation line. The changes made in the Free Time Search window will be reflected. 

Note: To modify a tool and facility line, open the Free Time Search window from the Prepare Work Order/Tools and Facilities tab, and follow the steps described above.

Search for Employees Who Work Overtime

Note: For this exercise, the employee record should be connected to IFS Human Resources.

  1. Query for the work order created in the previous exercise.
  2. Click the Operation tab, select the operation line, right-click and then click Free Time Search. The Free Time Search window opens. The window will be populated with the details related to the operation line.
  3. Change the values in the Earliest Date/Time and Latest Date/Time fields.
  4. Enter 4 as the execution time, so that the total planned time exceeds the time planned for an actual day.
  5. Select the Exclude Schedule check box.
  6. Click Search.
  7. On the Free Time Search/Results tab, select the result line, and then click on a suitable right mouse button option.
