Basic Data Definitions for 360 Scheduling—Exercises

Required Data

Company Address and Map Position

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you the required data that is used in the exercises below.

  1. Open the Company window and query (F3) for your company. This will be the company in which you will set up data and schedule using 360 Scheduling.
  2. Click the Address tab and enter a relevant address.
  3. In Attachments, click Map Positions and add a map position for the address by right-clicking and clicking Add Position. For Map Positions to appear as an allowed attachment type, it must have been connected to the CompanyAddress business object type in Object Connections.

Employee

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you the required data that is used in the exercises below.

  1. Open the Company window and query (F3) for your company. This will be the company in which you will set up data and schedule using 360 Scheduling.
  2. Click the Employees tab and connect your employee's ID.

Person Address and Map Position

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you the required data that is used in the exercises below. The address of a person is used to hold the map position location that will be used in the scheduling for the employee.

  1. Open the Person window and query (F3) for your person ID.
  2. Click Address tab and enter a relevant address.
  3. In Attachments, click Map Positions and add a map position for the address by right-clicking and clicking Add Position. For Map Positions to appear as an allowed attachment type, it must have been connected to the PersonInfoAddress business object type in Object Connections.

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to show you how to set up the data required for the Schedule Work Order with 360 Scheduling course.

Resource Type

  1. Open the Basic Data for Scheduling window and click the Resource Type tab.
  2. Create a new record (F5).
  3. In the Resource Type field, enter an identity for the resource type. Enter a description of this resource type in the Description field.
  4. In the Address ID Start field, use the List of Values to select the location at which the shift is to start.
  5. In the Address ID End field, use the List of Values to select the location at which the shift is to end.
  6. In the Scheduling Cost per Hour field, enter the cost per hour for the resource type.
  7. In the Scheduling Cost per Overtime Hour field, enter the cost per hour for the resource type when working overtime.
  8. In the Scheduling Cost per Km field, enter the cost per kilometer for the resource type.
  9. In the Max Travel Time (Hours) field, enter the maximum distance the resource type is allowed to travel from his or her start location. The maximum distance is measured in hours.
  10. In the Max Travel To (Hours) field, enter the maximum unpaid travel value in hours at the start of the shift.
  11. In the Max Travel From (Hours) field, enter the maximum unpaid travel value in hours at the end of the shift.
  12. In the Utilization (%) field, enter in percentage how much the resource type is allowed to work during a shift.
  13. Save the information (F12).

Resource

  1. Open the Basic Data for Scheduling window and click the Resource tab.
  2. Create a new record (F5).
  3. In the Employee ID field, use the List of Values to select the employee who is to be set up as a scheduling resource.
  4. In the Resource Type field, use the List of Values to select a resource type.
  5. Enter scheduling data in the available fields. If a field is left empty, the resource will use the data from the connected resource type. These values can be changed.
  6. In the Overtime Hours per Shift field, enter the maximum number of overtime hours the resource is allowed for a shift.
  7. Save the information (F12).

Activity Type

  1. Open the Basic Data for Scheduling window. Click the Work Order tab and then click the Activity Type sub tab.
  2. Create a new record (F5).
  3. In the Work Type field, use the List of Values to select the work type that is to be set up as a scheduling activity type.
  4. In the Duration (Hours) field, enter the default duration for the work order. This should be in hours.
  5. Enter or update the Base Value per Hour.
  6. Enter a buffer time in hours and as a percentage, if needed.
  7. In the Scheduling Type (Primary) Duration Hours field, enter the duration in hours for the default primary scheduling type.
  8. In the Scheduling Type (Secondary) Duration Hours field, enter the duration in hours for the default secondary scheduling type.
  9. Save the information (F12).

Weighting

  1. Open the Basic Data for Scheduling window. Click the Work Order tab and then click the Weighting sub tab.
  2. Create a new record (F5).
  3. In the Weight Criteria ID field, use the List of Values to select the criteria for which weighting values are to be entered. Valid values are: PRIORITY_ID, CRITICALITY and CONTRACT_TYPE.
  4. In the Criteria Value field, use the List of Values to select the criteria value.
  5. In the Weight Value field, enter the weighting value applicable for the weight criteria. Optionally, enter a description of the weighting value in the Weight Description field.
  6. Save the information (F12).

Appointment Value

  1. Open the Basic Data for Scheduling window. Click the Work Order tab and then click the Appointment Value sub tab.
  2. Create a new record (F5).
  3. In the Up To Hours field, enter the time in hours up to which the appointment duration is valid.
  4. In the Base Value per Hour field, enter the base value per hour for the appointment activity.
  5. Select the Include Weighting Factor check box if the weighting factor is to be included in the appointment base value calculation.
  6. Save the information (F12).

Scheduling Type

  1. Open the Scheduling Type window and create a new record (F5).
  2. In the Scheduling Type field, enter a unique identity for the scheduling type.
  3. Enter a description of the scheduling type in the Description field.
  4. Enter or update the scheduling type data which will be used as inputs when performing scheduling type calculations in the Scheduling Engine.
  5. Save the information (F12).
