Scheduling Work Orders—Exercises
Required Data
Work Order
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you the
required data that is used in the exercises below.
- Open the
Prepare Work Order
window.
- Create a new work order for the object on which you are preparing and
planning maintenance.
General exercise for
Create Work Order.
Virtual Map Position - Work Order
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you the
required data that is used in the exercises below.
- Open the
Prepare Work Order
window.
- Query (F3) for the work order you created, and then add a virtual map
position to it. If the virtual map service is not enabled for the work
order, this needs to be entered in Object
Connections before you can add the map positions.
General exercise for
Create Position Object.
Main Exercise
Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to show you how
to set a fixed start and/or fixed resource (maintenance employee) for a work
order. When a fixed start and/or fixed resource is set, the work order will
be scheduled to the given employee and/or point in time.
Note: To be transferred to
and scheduled by the Scheduling Engine, the work order must be in a valid
status. Therefore, the
Set
WO Transfer Status - Object Properties exercise must have been completed.
Windows:
Service Request
Prepare Work Order
- Open the Service Request window or the
Prepare Work Order window.
- Query (F3) for the relevant work order.
- Click the Prepare tab.
- In the Fixed Start field, enter the fixed date at which the work order
or service request is to start.
- Save the information (F12).
- Open the Service Request window or the
Prepare Work Order window.
- Query (F3) for the relevant work order.
- Click the Prepare tab.
- In the Executed By field, use the List of Values to select the
employee who will be the fixed resource for the work order. Ensure the
selected employee has been set up as a resource for scheduling.
- Select the Fixed Executed By check box.
- Save the information (F12).
