Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to set up some basic data for sub contract.

  1. Open theSub Contract Basic Data window.
  2. Create the basic data that should be associated with the tasks on your sub contract, like Task Type.

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you the required data that is used in the exercises below.

  1. Create the sub contract.

Main Exercise

Purpose: The main purpose of this exercise is to show you how to add and execute tasks on a sub contract. These tasks serve as information/guidance for the personnel that are directly working with the sub contract. In this example, you are responsible for reviewing the scope for the sub contract. The planned finish date for this task should be set to today's date. Using this information we will learn how to modify and execute a sub contract task.

Adding Sub Contract Tasks

  1. Open the Sub Contract window.
  2. Populate (F2) or query (F3) for the sub contract name Central Air Conditioning.
  3. Click the Tasks tab.
  4. Enter the following list of tasks:

Note: Make sure to replace all instances of XX with your initials.

  1. Enter suitable planned start and finish dates for each task.
  2. You will be responsible for each task created; enter your user identity in the Responsible ID field.
  3. Save the records (F12).

Executing Sub Contract Tasks

  1. Open the Sub Contract window.
  2. Populate (F2) or query (F3) for the sub contract name Central Air Conditioning.
  3. Click the Tasks tab.
  4. In order to execute the task, make sure the following information is entered:

Review Scope

1 month prior to today's date

Today's date

Your user ID

  1. Save the information (F12).
  2. To activate the task, select the row, right-click, point to Status and then click Activate.
  3. To complete the task, select the row, right-click, point to Status and then click Complete.
  4. Optionally, you can cancel a task by right-clicking on the row, pointing to Status and then clicking Cancel.
  5. Use the given steps to execute all the tasks on the sub contract.
