Main Exercise

Purpose: The main purpose of these exercises is to define basic data for sub contracts.

Creating Sub Contract Type

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to register a contract type for the sub contract.

Windows:
Sub Contract Basic Data/Contract Type

  1. Open the Sub Contract Basic Data window.
  2. Click the Contract Type tab and create a new record (F5).
  3. In the Contract Type field, enter the contract type XXINS, where XX are your initials.
  4. In the Type Description field, enter Installation.
  5. Save the record (F12).

Creating Deduction Type

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to register a deduction type for sub contract deductions.

Windows:
Sub Contract Basic Data/Deduction Type

  1. Open theSub Contract Basic Data window.
  2. Click the Deduction Type tab and create a new record (F5).
  3. In the Deduction Type field, enter XXITB, where XX are your initials.
  4. In the Deduction Name field, enter Industry Training Board.
  5. In the Percentage (%) field, enter 10.
  6. Save the record (F12).

Creating Address Type

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create additional address types for the contacts that are connected to a sub contract.

Windows:
Sub Contract Basic Data/Address Type

  1. Open theSub Contract Basic Data window.
  2. Click the Address Type tab and create a new record (F5).
  3. In the Address Type field, enter XXSITE, where XX are your initials.
  4. In the Address Type Description field, enter Site Office.
  5. Save the record (F12).

Creating Reason Code

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create two reason codes to be used on sub contracts.

Windows:
Sub Contract Basic Data/Reason Code

  1. Open theSub Contract Basic Data window.
  2. Click the Reason Code tab.
  3. Enter reason codes using the information in the following table:

Note: Make sure to replace all instances of XX with your initials.

  1. Save the records (F12).

Creating Category1

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create a category to be used for grouping similar sub contracts.

Windows:
Sub Contract Basic Data/Category1

  1. Open the Sub Contract Basic Data window.
  2. Click the Category1 tab and create a new record (F5).
  3. In the Category1 Name field, enter XXBC, where XX are your initials.
  4. In the Category1 Description field, enter Building and Construction.
  5. Save the record (F12).

Creating Category2

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create a supplementary category to be used for grouping similar sub contracts.

Windows:
Sub Contract Basic Data/Category2

  1. Open the Sub Contract Basic Data window.
  2. Click the Category2 tab and create a new record (F5).
  3. In the Category2 Name field, enter a suitable category name. Make sure to precede the category name with XX, where XX are your initials.
  4. In the Category2 Description field, enter a description for the new category.
  5. Save the record (F12).

Creating Sub Status

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create additional contract statuses.

Windows:
Sub Contract Basic Data/Sub Status

  1. Open the Sub Contract Basic Data window.
  2. Click the Sub Status tab and create a new record (F5).
  3. In the Sub Status field, enter XXHP, where XX are your initials.
  4. In the Sub Status Description field, enter High Priority.
  5. Save the record (F12).
  6. Create a new record (F5) and create another sub status of Low Priority. Make sure to precede the sub status ID with XX, where XX are your initials.
  7. Save the record (F12).

Creating Work Instruction Type

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create work instruction types to be used on work instructions.

Windows:
Sub Contract Basic Data/Work Instruction Type

  1. Open the Sub Contract Basic Data window.
  2. Click the Work Instruction Type tab and create a new record (F5).
  3. In the Type field, enter XXDET, where XX are your initials.
  4. In the Description field, enter Details.
  5. Save the record (F12).

Creating Task Type

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create three sub contract task types.

Windows:

  1. Open the Sub Contract Basic Data window.
  2. Click the Task Type tab.
  3. Enter sub contract task types by using the information in the following table:

Creating Contract Numbering

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create four sub contract numbering rules. These contract numbering rules will be used to configure the automatic generation of sub contract numbers based on the company, site and contract type associated with a sub contract.

  1. Open the Sub Contract Basic Data window.
  2. Click the Contract Numbering tab and create a new record (F5).
  3. Enter four numbering rules by using the information in the following table:
