Using Consignment Stock at Customer's Warehouse—Exercises

within any other site, you will compromise your own exercise data as well as the data of other students. Predictable exercise
results require that your data be isolated in your own site. |
Basic Data Setup
Customer
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to create a customer to be used in the main exercise.
Windows:
Customer
- Open the
Customer window, and query for customer 1000.
- Right-click and then click Copy Customer to create your new customer, XX1000. XX represents your initials.
- Click the
Address tab and then the
Order Address Info tab.
- In the Ship Via field, enter a ship-via code.
- Right-click and then click Supply Chain Matrix for Customer.
- In the
From Supply Site tab, add a line that is valid for your site. Use * (asterisk) as the ship-via value, and one day as the
external transport lead time.

Purchase/Inventory/Sales Part
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create part data entries necessary when using the consignment stock functionality.
Windows:
New Part Assistant
- Create XX-58-401 as a purchased, inventory, and sales part by using the
New Part Assistant. Use supplier 5000.

Inventory Locations
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set up the basic data required for using the consignment stock functionality.

window and create inventory locations of the following types: Arrival, Quality Assurance, and Picking.

Receive Inventory Part window, and receive a sufficient quantity of the part into a picking location.

Main Exercises
Purpose: The purpose of these exercises is to show you how to use the consignment stock flow, when the
consignment stock is placed at a customer's warehouse.

Create Customer Invoices
Customer Invoice
You have just set up basic data needed to use the consignment stock at a customer's warehouse. Now it is time to deliver the
initial stock, and subsequently refill the consignment stock, and report and invoice the consumed parts.
- Your customer wants to start with a stock of 10 of the consignment part.
- Create a customer order for customer 1000, using order type XXC. To do this, open the
Customer Consignment Stock window, then right-click and click Create Refill Order.
- Open the
Customer Order window, and release the customer order. Execute the background job.
- Open the Customer Order/Order History tab. What statuses have the order passed?
- Search for the order in the
Customer Invoice window. Did you find an invoice?
- Our customer informs us that they have sold 9 parts.
- Open the
Customer Consignment Stock Consumption window and search for the part.
- Enter the consumed quantity in the appropriate column, and save the record.
- Enter an order type and accept the creation of a refill order.
- Deliver the refill order.
- Open the
Create Customer Invoices window, and search for both orders. Do you find them both?
- Create an invoice by using the right mouse button option.
- Check the created invoice. How many pieces are invoiced?
- Your customer reports the consumption of another 3 pieces.
- Report the consumption.
- Open the Create Customer Invoices window. Search for both customer orders. Do you find them both?
- Select both orders, and create the invoices. Review the invoiced quantities.
