Basic Data Setup

Condition Codes

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to verify, and if necessary, enter condition codes that will be used in the main exercises.

Windows:
Part Basic Data/Condition Code

  1. Populate the tab and view the existing values. The code value NORMAL is installed with the system. All other values are user defined. If NEW, USED, and UNSERV are not displayed, enter these condition codes.
  2. Verify that NEW is set as the default condition code. Save any changes.

Condition Code Enabled Sales Part

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to enter a condition code enabled sales part.

Windows:
Inventory Part
Sales Part

  1. Enter a condition code handled serial inventory part with the part number XX99-001 and Engine as the description. Replace XX with your initials.
  2. Set the part type to Purchased.
  3. Save your changes.
  4. Enter a sales part for the inventory part you created above.

Customer

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create a customer.

Windows:
Customer

  1. Open the Customer window.
  2. Create C.S.C. Oslo as the customer with XX-1001 as the customer number. Replace XX with your initials.
  3. Save your changes.

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to learn how to set up condition code prices.

Windows:
Sales Part

Condition Code Pricing

  1. Click the Condition Code Pricing tab.
  2. Create a new record (F5).
  3. Enter the condition code NORMAL in the Condition Code field.
  4. Enter 205 in the Price field.
  5. Create a new record (F5).
  6. Enter the condition code NEW in the Condition Code field.
  7. Enter 230 in the Price field.
  8. Create a new record (F5).
  9. Enter the condition code USED in the Condition Code field.
  10. Enter 180 in the Price field.
  11. Save the new records (F12).
