General Exercise for Creating Configuration Part

Main Exercises

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to enter a sales rule that will execute a predefined external method which will add specified spare parts in the configuration to the connected order.

Note: When working with CTO parts and sales rules, you connect sales rules with conditions and actions as a layer on part configuration revision. The sales rules should be setup in such a way to make it impossible to create an invalid configuration which could not be produced. In IFS Applications you connect specific sales rules for the connected characteristics and options.

Creating Sales Rule Action External

1. Open the Sales Rule window either from the Part Configuration Revision window or directly from the navigator.
2. Query for the part XX-10 (EasyFlex Garage Door).

Note: You will enter the conditions and actions for part 10, so that an external method is executed. If you enter the sales parts and quantity in the configuration and the external method is triggered with this sales rule, the spare part lines will automatically be added.

3. Create new a sales rule, enter the name SparePart in the Sales Rule Name field, and enter a description.
4. Create a new condition line for the sales rule.
5. Enter the condition as shown in the table below.

6. Continue and add the following action.

7. Save.
8. Check that the status of the Part Configuration Revision is set as Released.
9. Create a Sales Quotation or a Customer Order and create a configuration for the revision. Add IR as the value for GDREMOTE and choose sales part in the List of Values for GDSPARE1 and GDSPARE2 and set the quantity for the characteristics. Choose CREATE for the characteristic GDCREATESPARE.
10. Save.
11. Open the Customer Order window again and check the created order lines.
