design object.

Main Exercise
Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to create
connections between design objects.
Windows:
Design Object Connections
Design Object/Object Connections
- Open the Design Object
window and query for the design object MD.
- Click the Object Connections tab and click New.
- In the Sort Order field, enter 1.
- In the Connected Object field, enter PC.
- In the Object Connection Description field, use the List of Values to
select the relation type with the Drives relation description.
- Click New.
- In the Sort Order field, enter 2.
- In the Connected Object field, enter MCP.
- In the Object Connection Description field, use the List of Values to
select the relation type with the Included in MC Package relation
description.
- Click New.
- In the Sort Order field, enter 2.
- In the Connected Object field, enter SC.
- In the Object Connection Description field, use the List of Values to
select the relation type with the Is triggered by relation
description.
- Click Save.
- On the Business Object Explorer Tree View, locate and
navigate to the design
object MD.
- Expand the object node, and expand the Object Connections folder.
- Observe that the object connections are displayed as follows:
- Drives: PM - this is a centrifugal pump that the motor drives.
- Included in MCC Package: MCP - this is a MCC Package that contains test
and installation checklist protocols for the motor.
- Is triggered by: SC - this is a Switchgear Compartment that supplies the
motor with power.
