Connect Work Order to Project Activity
Explanation
This activity is used to connect a work order to an existing project
activity. You will only be able to connect the work orders that do not
contain any cost transactions, such as material, tools and facilities, operations
and so on.
Prerequisites
- IFS/Project must have been installed along with IFS/Work Order.
- All the necessary basic data required for a work order must be performed
in order for the Connect To Activity right mouse button option to be
enabled (right-click and point to Project Connections).
System Effects
- The work order will be connected to the
specified project activity as a manually connected object. Right-click and click
Project Activity Info to view a summary of the project activity.
- The work order will also be updated
with the project's pre-posting when the project has been approved, and it will appear as a connection
on the Project
Info/Connections tab in IFS/Project.
- If the work order belongs to a structure then the project
connection will be performed for all work orders within that structure.
