Handling Picking—Exercises

IMPORTANT
If you are a student, it is extremely important that you set up and work within your own site to maintain your data integrity. If you work within any other site, you will compromise your own exercise data as well as the data of other students. Predictable exercise results require that your data be isolated in your own site.

Basic Data Setup

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create stored sales parts and receive them into inventory in order to use them as complementary parts. 

Enter Customer

Windows:
Customer

  1. Enter C.S.C. Oslo as customer with XX1001 as Customer No.
  2. Enter C.S.C. Paris as customer with XX1002 as Customer No.
  3. Enter C.S.C. New York as customer with XX1000 as Customer No.

Create Stored Sales Parts

Windows:
Sales Part
Inventory Locations
Inventory Part
Receive Inventory Part

  1. Enter Street Car as Sales Part and with XX18-300 as Sales Part No.
  2. Enter Race Car as Sales Part and with XX18-100 as Sales Part No.
  3. Enter Street Car as Sales Part and with XX18-304 as Sales Part No.
  4. Create relevant Inventory Locations.
  5. Create corresponding Inventory Parts
  6. Receive a sufficient number of parts of each into stock. Make sure that you have sufficient quantity of XX18-304 in two different locations.

Required Data

Entering Customer Order

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set up the basic data required for running this particular functionality.

  1. Enter a customer order with C.S.C. Oslo (XX1001) as customer and wanted delivery date in a month's time. Select  NO as order type. Use your User ID as the coordinator. Note the order number: __________.
  2. Enter an order line with 3 pcs of the sales part Street Car (XX18-300).
  3. Release the customer order.
  4. Reserve the customer order.
  5. Enter a customer order with C.S.C. Paris (XX1002) as customer and wanted delivery date in a month's time. Select  NO as order type. Use your User ID as the coordinator. Note the order number: __________.
  6. Enter an order line with 5 pcs of the sales part Race Car (XX18-100).
  7. Release the customer order.
  8. Reserve the customer order.
  9. Enter a customer order with C.S.C. New York (XX1000) as customer and wanted delivery date in a month's time. Select  NO as order type. Use your User ID as the coordinator. Note the order number: __________.
  10. Enter an order line with 5 pcs of the sales part Street Car (XX18-304). 
  11. Release the customer order.
  12. Reserve the customer order

General exercise for Entering Customer Order

Main Exercise

Purpose: To generate a picking list and a pick report in full accordance to the picking list as well as pick report when the quantity is smaller than on picking list. Also to generate a picking list and a pick report that indicates that the parts have been issued from a different location than what is stated on the picking list.

Create a Picking List - Picking without Deviations 

  1. Create and print a pick list for the Street Car XX18-300 by using the Operations menu in the Create Pick List for Customer Orders (C.S.C. Oslo) and the Print Pick List windows.

  2. Search for the report in the Archived Reports window and print it. Review the picking list. From what inventory location is the part to be issued?

  3. Select the Report Picking of Customer Orders window and report the picked parts without deviation.

Note: If you are using Shipment, the same operations are used but initiated from the Shipment window.

Create a Picking List - Picking with Deviations

  1. Create and print a picking list for the Race Car XX18-100 by using the Operations menu in the Create Pick List for Customer Orders (C.S.C. Paris) and the Print Pick List windows.

  2. Search for the report in the Archived Reports window and print it.

  3. Select the Report Picking of Pick List Lines window and report that only 12 Race cars have been picked.

Note: If you are using Shipment, the same operations are used but initiated from the Shipment window.

Create a Picking List - Picking from a Different Location

  1. Create and print a picking list for the Street Car XX18-304 by using the Operations menu in the Create Pick List for Customer Orders (C.S.C. New York) and the Print Pick List windows.

  2. Search for the report in the Archived Reports window and print it.

  3. Select the Report Picking of Pick List Lines window and report that the cars were issued from a location other than the one stated on the picking list.

Note: If you are using Shipment, the same operations are used but initiated from the Shipment window.
