Distributing Customer Orders— Exercises

IMPORTANT
If you are a student, it is extremely important that you set up and work within your own site to maintain your data integrity. If you work within any other site, you will compromise your own exercise data as well as the data of other students. Predictable exercise results require that your data be isolated in your own site.

Basic Data Setup

Windows:

  1. Enter C.S.C. Oslo as customer with XX1001 as Customer No.
  2. Enter C.S.C. New York as customer with XX1000 as Customer No.

  1. Enter Ferrari Car as Sales Part and with XX18-200 as Sales Part No.
  2. Enter Race Car as Sales Part and with XX18-100 as Sales Part No.
  3. Create relevant Inventory Locations.
  4. Create corresponding Inventory Parts
  5. Receive a sufficient number of parts of each into stock.

Required Data

Entering Customer Order

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create required data for running this particular functionality.

  1. Enter a customer order with C.S.C. Oslo (XX1001) as customer and wanted delivery date in a month's time. The order type should be NO, and you should use your User ID as the coordinator. Note the order number: __________.
  2. Enter an order line with 3 pcs of the sales part Ferrari Car (XX18-200).
  3. Release the customer order.

  4. Reserve the customer order, create and print the pick list.
  5. Report the picked parts without deviation.
  6. Enter a customer order with C.S.C. New York (XX1000) as customer and wanted delivery date in a month's time. The order type should be NO, and you should use your User ID as the coordinator. Note the order number: __________.
  7. Enter an order line with 5 pcs of the sales part Race Car (XX18-100).
  8. Release the customer order.
  9. Reserve the customer order, create and print the pick list.
  10. Report the picked parts without deviation.

Main Exercises

Deliver Sold Parts

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to familiarize you with the basic functionality of delivering sold parts, including printing of delivery notes.

Windows:

  1. Activate the Customer Order to C.S.C. Oslo and deliver the order line as picked, i.e., without any differences, by selecting Deliver from the Operations menu in the Deliver Customer Order Lines window.
  2. Create and print the delivery note.

Deliver Sold Parts with Deviation

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to familiarize you with the basic functionality of delivering fewer sold parts than actually picked, including printing of delivery notes and closing the order line.

C.S.C. New York communicates that they now need only three Race Cars. Their change of order is accepted and the order line will be delivered with deviation.

  1. Open the Deliver Customer Order Line with Differences window and go to the Single tab. Enter the actual inventory quantity to deliver.  Click the header and deliver the order with differences, by selecting Deliver with Differences from the Operations menu.
  2. Create and print the delivery note.
  3. Select the order line in the Customer Order/Order Lines tab and close the order line through the Operations menu.
