Creating Unit Based Price Lists—Exercises

IMPORTANT
It is extremely important that you set up and work within your own site to maintain your data integrity. If you work within any other site, you will compromise your own exercise data as well as the data of other students. Predictable exercise results require that your data be isolated in your own site.

Basic Data Setup

Create Customer

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set up the basic data required to create part based price lists.

Windows:
Customer

  1. Create customers XX130 Ferrari and XX140 Team Rahal.

Create Sales Part

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set up the basic data required to create a sales part, which is used in part based price lists.

Windows:
Sales Part

  1. Create stored Sales Part XX88-100 Paint. Use liter as U/M and connect it to Sales Price Group XXPNT.

Create Unit Based Price List

Purpose: To understand how to set up unit based price lists.

IFS Racing sells paint for the bodies of the Race Car. You will create a unit based price list for this paint using the following data:

Min Quantity Sales Price Discount
1 liter USD 10 0%
5 liter USD 9 2%
10 liter USD 8 4%
  1. Create a price list in the Sales Price List window. Use USD as currency, and enter 20 as sales price group.
  2. For a company with a VAT tax regime, it is possible to define the tax calculation basis using the Use Price Incl Tax check box.
  3. Click the Unit Based tab and enter the three price lines according to above table. Use Discount Types S3 and S4.
  4. Enter site(s) in Valid for Site tab.

Now the price list you created should be connected to customers XX130 Ferrari and XX140 Tam Rahal. This is done either by connecting the price list directly to each customer, or by using customer price groups.

  1. Open the Customer Price Group window and create a customer price group called XXR.
  2. Create a new line with Sales Price Group 20 and currency USD. Enter price list created above. Save the record.
  3. Open the Customer window and query for Ferrari.
  4. In the Order/General tab, enter Customer Price Group XXR. Save the record.
  5. Repeat step 6-7 for Team Rahal.

Update Unit Based Price List

Purpose: To understand how to update a unit based price list.

Windows:

Sales Price List/Unit Based

Our supplier for paint has raised their price, which forces IFS Racing to raise their sales prices on paint by 5%. The new prices will be valid from the 1st of next month.

  1. Open the Update Unit Based Price Lists window and indicate the percentage and a start date in the appropriate fields.
  2. Run the update on line and enter your price list in the Price List column.
  3. Open the Sales Price List/Unit Based tab and search for your price list. View the validity dates.
