Using Customer Order Template—Exercises

IMPORTANT

Create a Customer Order Template

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to create a customer order template.

Windows:
Customer Order Template

  1. Create a template named XX-1. Enter a description of your choice.
  2. Connect sales part Race Car to your site. Enter a standard quantity of your choice.
  3. Save your changes.

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set up the basic data required for running this particular functionality.

  1. Enter a customer order with C.S.C. Oslo (XX-1001) as customer. Select NO as order type. Use your User ID as the coordinator. Note the order number: __________.
  2. Enter an order line with 2 pcs of the sales part Race Car (XX-18-100).

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to use the customer order template in the customer order entry.

Create a Customer Order Using a Custom Order Template

  1. C.S.C. Oslo needs to buy another 3 of XX-18-100 Race Car. Create a new customer order header, and save your changes.
  2. In the customer order header, right-click and then choose Customer Order Template.
  3. Under Method, click the Latest Order option, and then click Populate. Analyze the order line that is displayed. Note that the order number appeared automatically.
  4. Click Period. Enter June 1, 1999 as the start date. Click Populate, and analyze the result.
  5. Click the Order No option. Enter the order number from the order that was entered in the Required Data section, and then click Populate.
  6. In the Defined Template field, enter XX-1 as the template ID, or select this value from the List of Values.
  7. Click Populate, and change the amount in the Ordered Qty field to 3 pieces.
  8. Click OK, and analyze the customer order lines that have been created. What is the amount that appears on the order line?
