Enter Version Lines

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you the required data that is used in the exercises below.

1. Enter three resource forecast lines on a project resource forecast.

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of these exercises is to show how to analyze a project resource forecast in different ways using different functions.

Project Resource Forecast

Analyzing Snapshot Data

1. Open the Project Resource Forecast window and query for the project resource forecast for which you created resource forecast lines.
2. Select one row, right-click and click Snapshot Data.
3. Observe how the planned, committed, used hours and costs have been created.

Analyzing Resource Forecast Allocation

1. Open the Project Resource Forecast window and query for the project resource forecast for which you created resource forecast lines.
2. Select the first resource line, right-click and click Resource Forecast Allocation.
3. Select the Day, Week, Month or Year tab depending on which level the analysis should be done.
4. Observe how hours have been spread over the time.  

Analyzing Cost Elements

1. Open the Project Resource Forecast window and query for the project resource forecast for which you created resource forecast lines.
2. Select the second resource line, right-click and select Cost Elements.
3. Observe how resource forecasted hours have been distributed into costs per cost element.
