It is extremely important that you set up and work within your own
site to maintain your data integrity. If you work within any other
site, you will compromise your own exercise data as well as the data of
other students. Predictable exercise results require that your data be
isolated in your own site. |
Required Data
Defining Inventory Parts
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to familiarize
you with the data that must be in place before you can do the the exercises
below.
- Define the projects items in the project product structure as inventory
parts and specify which are project-specific and standard planned items.

Main Exercises
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to run the
GRC Warning Info before the gross requirements calculation (GRC) is performed.

Running the GRC Warning Info
- Open the
Project Product window, and query your project
XXPD–01.
- Click the Demand tab and then the MPL
tab.
- Right-click and then click Warnings to see whether the GRC
returns any errors. The
Warnings window appears, as does a message
prompting you to indicate whether you want to continue.
- Click Yes. Warning information appears if the parts, especially the top
project item, lack an activity connection.
- Click the Missing Procurement tab. Another message
appears prompting you to indicate whether you want to continue.
- Click
Yes. Warning information appears if one or more branches in the project product structure
do not have parts set to Procurement.
- Click the Demand Not Allowed tab. Another message appears
prompting you to indicate whether you want to continue.
- Click
Yes. Warning information appears if one or more project items
in the project product structure are not allowed to have a demand, such as when
the part or parts are obsolete.
