Required Data

Create Task

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create a task to be used to create a handover reference from.

  1. Create a new task for a case.

General exercise for Create Task

Enter Site 

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to define a site to be used as a ref ID for a business object which is to be connected to a  business object queue.

Windows:
Site

  1. Create a new site.

General Exercise for Entering a Site

Connect Site to the User.

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to connect the site you created to your user ID

Windows:

  1. Connect the site you created to your user ID

General Exercise for Connecting a Site to a User

Define Maintenance Organization

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to define a maintenance organization to be used as a ref ID in a business object which is to be connected to a business object queue.

Windows:
Organization Basic Data

  1. Create a new maintenance organization
  2. Enter the above created site as the site for the maintenance organization (to be used as a ref ID  the site we select as the maintenance organization site should be any site allowed to the user)

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to manage a handover reference from a task to a business object.

Windows:
Case

Create Handover Reference in Case window

  1. Open the Case window and query (F3) for the case with the task you created.
  2. Right Click and Click Accept. The Accept Case dialog is opened.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Click the Tasks tab.
  5. Select the row with the task, right click and click Accept Task. The Accept Task dialog box is opened. Click OK.
  6. Select the row with the task, right click and click Create Handover Reference. The Handover dialog box is opened.
  7. Select work order in the Handover Reference field.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Use List to select the site you created in the WO Site field.
  10. Use List to select the maintenance organization you created in the Maint. Org field.
  11. Enter My first work order handover, in the Short Description field.
  12. Make sure the Open Form check box is selected and click OK. The Service Request window is opened.
  13. Click on each tab and go through the information and see what can be modified and enter values accordingly.
  14. Close the window.

Note Try creating a handover reference to a customer order and return material authorization by yourself. (First, create more tasks and accept them as shown in Required Data). Use the same steps mentioned above except for selecting the appropriate values in the Handover Reference field.

View Handover Reference

  1. Select the row with the task, right click and click View Handover Reference.

Disconnect Handover Reference

  1. Select the row with the task, right click and click Disconnect Handover Reference.
  2. A message appears inquiring whether you wish to remove the connection. Click Yes.
