Releasing CAMRO Interim Order Structures-Key Exercises

IMPORTANT
If you are a student, it is extremely important that you set up and work within your own site to maintain your data integrity. If you work within any other site, you will compromise your own exercise data as well as the data of other students. Predictable exercise results require that your data be isolated in your own site.

Creating an CAMRO Interim Order Structure

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to setup the required data that will be used in the following exercises.

Windows:
CAMRO Interim Order Structure

  1. Create a CAMRO interim order structure.
  2. For later reference, record the interim header ID and serial number used in the creation of the order structure in the table below.

Note: It is suggested that you use a serial number which you can easily identify as your own creation in later queries, such as by prefixing the serial number with your initials.

    Serial No

Releasing an CAMRO Interim Order Structure in its Entirety

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to introduce you to the functionality for releasing a CAMRO interim order structure, resulting in the creation of supply shop orders of various types, i.e. disassembly, disposition and assembly orders.

Data Type Value
CAMRO Interim Order Structure CAMRO Interim Order Structure should be for position part number PP/XX_ENG

Windows:
CAMRO Interim Order Structure
Background Jobs

  1. Open the CAMRO Interim Order Structure window.

  2. Query for the interim header ID recorded in the previous exercise. Observe the state of the order structure. It should be Created.

  3. In the Disassembly tab, click the Tree Structure tab, then the Disassembly tab, followed by the Detail tab. Observe the state for a number of the disassembly and disposition interim orders. They should all be in Created state. Do the same in the Assembly tab.

  4. Click the top-level disassembly order in the CAMRO Interim Order Structure/Tree Structure/Disassembly tab. Click the Assignments tab. Observe that there is an inventory assignment of real part number XX_ENG and the serial number you recorded in step 2 of the previous exercise. Observe further that the Reserved To Supply check box is not selected.

  5. In the header section of the window, right-click and then click Release. Click OK in the subsequent message. This will post a background process which executes the release of the order structure.

  6. Open the Background Jobs window and populate. Highlight the row corresponding to the Interim Order Release process. If the state of the process is Posted, right-click and then click Execute. Verify that the state of the process is Ready.

  7. Reselect the interim header ID in the Interim Header ID list. Click the Tree Structure/Disassembly/Detail tab. Observe the state for a number of the disassembly and disposition orders. They should all be in Released state. Do the same in the Assembly tab.

  8. Click on the top-level disassembly order. In the Tree Structure/Disassembly/Assignments tab, verify that the Reserved To Supply check box is now selected.

The general principle sought to be illustrated in steps 4 to 7 is that when a disassembly shop order is received, the next interim order(s) will have inventory assignments created for them (one for each component) which indicate that the received components have been assigned to their respective disassembly interim orders. If the next order(s) have not been released, the Reserved To Supply check box in the inventory assignment record is not selected, and vice-versa.

On the assembly order side, whenever a component supply order (either a disposition or repair or an assembly order) is received, an inventory assignment record is created in the parent assembly interim order. Thus an assembly interim order will usually have multiple inventory assignments, one for each component, whereas a disassembly order will have only one assignment, the part being disassembled in the disassembly interim order.

Releasing an CAMRO Interim Order Structure by Type

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to introduce you to the functionality for releasing sections of an MRO interim order structure by type of interim order, i.e. disassembly, disposition and assembly orders.

Windows:
CAMRO Interim Order Structure
Background Jobs

  1. Run the initial Creating an MRO Interim Order Structure exercise. This will create the necessary order structure.

  2. Open the CAMRO Interim Order Structure window.

  3. Query up the interim header ID recorded in the step 1. Observe the state of the order structure. It should be Created.

  4. Click the Tree Structure/Disassembly/Detail tab. Observe the state for a number of the disassembly and disposition orders. They should all be in Created state. Do the same in the Assembly tab.

  5. Right-click in the header and then click Release Disassembly Orders. Click OK in the subsequent dialog box. This will post a background process which executes the release of the disassembly orders only in the order structure.

  6. Open the Background Jobs window and populate. Highlight the row corresponding to the Interim Order Release process. If the state of the process is Posted, right-click, then click Execute. Verify that the state of the process is Ready.

  7. Reselect the interim header ID in the Interim Header Id list. Click the Tree Structure/Disassembly/Detail tab. Verify the state for all of the disassembly orders only. They should all be in state Released. The state of the interim header ID should be Partially Released.

  8. Now verify the state of all of the disposition orders. They should all still be in Created state. Do the same in the Assembly tab. All of the assembly orders should also still be in Created state.

  9. Repeat steps 5 to 7, this time clicking Release Disassembly Orders in the header. Verify that all of the disposition orders are now in state Released. The state of the interim header ID should still be Partially Released.

  10. Repeat steps 5 to 7, this time clicking Release Assembly Orders in the header. Verify that all of the assembly orders are now in state Released. The state of the interim header ID should now be Released.

Releasing an CAMRO Interim Order Structure by Level

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to introduce you to the functionality for releasing sections of an MRO interim order structure by level, i.e. a branch of the order structure, either in the disassembly or assembly structure sections.

Windows:
CAMRO Interim Order Structure
Background Jobs

  1. Run the initial Creating an MRO Interim Order Structure exercise. This will create the necessary order structure.

  2. Open the CAMRO Interim Order Structure window.

  3. Query for the interim header ID recorded in the step 1. Observe the state of the order structure. It should be Created.

  4. Click the Tree Structure/Disassembly/Detail tab. Observe the state for a number of the disassembly and disposition orders. They should all be in Created state. Do the same in the Assembly tab.

  5. Click the top-level disassembly order in the Tree Structure/Disassembly tab. Right-click and then click Release. Click any other interim order in the order structure, then click the top-level disassembly order. Click the Tree Structure/Disassembly/Detail tab and verify that the state of the top-level disassembly order is Released.

  6. Select the disassembly order corresponding to position part number PP/XX_A1, right-click and then click Release Structure. Click OK in the subsequent dialog box. This will post a background process which executes the release of only those interim orders in the branch of the tree structure starting with the node for corresponding disassembly order.

  7. Open the Background Jobs window and populate. Highlight the row corresponding to the Interim Order Release process. If the state of the process is Posted, right-click and then click Execute. Verify that the state of the process is Ready.

  8. Reselect the interim header the Interim Header Id list. Click the Tree Structure/Disassembly/Detail tab.

  9. Verify that the state of all the orders listed in step 6 is Released. Verify that all other interim orders in the order structure, except the top-level disassembly order, are still in Created state. The state of the interim header ID should be Partially Released.

Releasing a Specific Interim Order

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to introduce you to the functionality for releasing a specific interim order, either a disassembly, disposition or assembly order.

Windows:
