Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create performance criteria that will be used to evaluate employees.

Create Periods for Performance Evaluation

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create periods during which employee performance should be measured.

  1. Define the evaluation period as 2012 with the following details.
    Performance Period Valid From Valid To
    2012_Year_End 01/01/2012 31/12/2012

Create Status Options for Performance Evaluation

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create the default status of general criteria you connect to the employee.

  1. Create the Initial status as the default status value.

Define Position Access

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to setup the position access required for this exercise.

  1. Setup position access so that ALAIN is the supervisor of ALEX in company 10 IFS Racing AB.

General exercise for maintaining position structure

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to assign general performance criteria to employee ALEX. See that the employee is assigned to general performance criteria as detailed in the table below.

Assign General Performance Criteria to an Employee

  1. Open the General Performance Evaluation window and select the employee ID of ALEX in the employee ID fields.
  2. Select 2012_Year_End as the period during which the employee's performance is measured.
  3. Create a new record. In the Performance Criterion field, enter the predefined criterion: 'Accepting Accountability'. You can select this value using the available list.
  4. In the Performance Area field, enter the predefined area of  'Professionalism'. You can select this value using the available list.
  5. Set the weight of the objective to 20.
  6. Save the information.
  7. Similarly add the other performance criteria and save the records.

Note: The status of each performance criteria would be set to Initial as this is the status defined with the lowest sequence number.
