Basic Data Setup
Media Item
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set
up the basic data required for running this particular functionality.
Windows:

- Media Items which can be connected and used in different combinations for
GDCOLOR and GDHANDLE which describe the following (Black-Standard,
Black-Classic, Black-Elegant, Grey-Standard, Grey-Classic, Grey-Elegant,
White-Standard, White-Classic, White-Elegant.) should be defined for this exercise.
Create a Configuration Family
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set
up the basic data required for running this particular functionality.
Windows:

Family
- Open the Configuration Family window.
- Create a new configuration family.
- For this exercise, the EASYFLEX family already exists.
Connect Characteristics to Configuration Family
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set up the
basic data required to make characteristics available in the part media combination table.
Windows:
Configuration
Family
- Open the Configuration Family window and query for the correct
family.
- In the Config Family Characteristic tab, enter the appropriate
characteristics.
- For this exercise, the characteristics are already connected to the EASYFLEX family.

- Configuration part (10) should be defined for this exercise and a revision.

Exercise for Creating Configuration Part
Main Exercise
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create a
sales rule part media combination table for a specific part and revision. The
combination table created will return an image that will be displayed in the
configuration window during configuration if the specified combination is valid.
Windows:
Part Media Combination
Note: Replace the XX in the exercise below with your initials. This ensures uniqueness and makes it easier to locate your data. For
example, John Smith would prefix his data with the letters JS: JSGDCOLOR.
Create Part Media Combination Table
- Open the Part Media Combination window.
- In the Part No
field, select part 10 from the List of Values.
- In the Spec Revision No
field, select the revision you
want to create the combination for from the List of Values.
- Save.
- Create the following combination factors:

- On each row, right click and then click Manage Media Library for each combination
and connect the image you created earlier for each combination.
- On the window right-click and then click
Test Combination to test the part media combination.
