Connect Technical Class to Object Type
Explanation
Use this activity to connect a technical class to an object type. If
you then associate the object type with an equipment object, the
technical attributes connected to the technical class will automatically be inherited by the equipment object.
Note: You cannot connect more than one technical
class to an object type.
Prerequisites
- The object type must exist in Equipment Basic Data
- The technical class must have been entered in IFS/Application
Services.
- The attributes must have been connected to the technical class
in IFS/Application Services.
System Effects
- A technical class is connected to the object type.
- This
information will be inherited by equipment objects upon entering an object
type in Functional Object or
Serial Object

Procedure
- Open the Equipment Basic Data window, click the
Object Types
tab, populate it (F2) and select a record.
- Click Attachments.
- Click Characteristics.
- In Characteristics, right click and click
Select Technical Class.
- In the Technical Class field, use the List of Values to select a suitable value.
- Click OK. The attributes are displayed.
