Connect Corrective Action to Cause

Explanation

This activity is used to connect standard jobs as corrective actions to a cause which is defined for a fault type. Corrective actions are connected to causes to simplify the preparation of the work order. When a fault report or service request is reported, this enables selection of applicable standard jobs based on the reported symptom and probable causes of the fault.

Prerequisites

• A cause must be defined for a fault type.
• A separate standard job must have been defined in the Standard Job/Separate Standard Job tab and it should be in the Active status.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, a standard job is connected to the cause.

Procedure

1. Open the Failure Analysis Setup Navigator window.
2. Query for the item class.
3. On the navigator on the left pane, navigate to the cause for which you want to connect a corrective action and click on it.
4. On the right pane, create a new record on the Corrective Actions tab.
5. Enter a value in the Standard Job ID field. Use the List of Values to select a suitable value.
6. Optionally, enter text in the Notes field.
7. Save the record.
