This activity is used to specify the modifications to be performed on the part on the disposition line. The task list generated from the work scope process may indicate modifications to be performed. These modifications will indicate the actual parts affected by the modification. If the part being inspected is one of these affected parts for the modification, then the modification may be required to be performed on the part. You can identify that all, some, or none of the indicated modifications are to be performed on the part.
Excluding a modification on a disposition line does not exclude the modification from work scope. Excluded modifications will still need to be addressed during task sign off and during the final conformance check. Excluding a modification means that the repair codes called out by the modification for this part will not be implemented.
There might be several reasons to exclude a modification. For example, if the modification's work scope can be considered to be covered by the work scope generated for a detected discrepancy, then the modification's work scope can be excluded for that disposition line since the requested result will be achieved anyway.
If modifications are included, these, along with any discrepancies which may have been identified for the part on the disposition line, will be used to determine the set of relevant repair codes.
Once you have finished your modification tasks, you can right-click and then click Modifications Complete. You have to re-open modifications on the disposition line before you can change your include and exclude decisions on the Modifications tab.
You cannot add new modifications to the work scope as a part of this activity.
As a result of this activity, the specific modifications will be included or excluded. The repair codes associated with the modifications that you included will be used in creating the repair shop order when the disposition line is approved.
