A work request is a work order that is created in IFS/Preventive and Corrective Maintenance. This work order is used to manage work orders for all types of maintenance tasks. You can create work orders via fault reports, or directly, by making work requests. This is practical when you want to facilitate the planning of the work, where for example several objects are to be repaired, or where several maintenance organizations are responsible for the work. Two different work requests will then be created. When you create a new work request it receives the status "Work Request."
A work request contains a short description on the request, information on the maintenance department, and information on the person who entered the information. When the work request is reported you choose the Prepare operation. The Prepare Work Order window will now be opened where the work on the work order will be further prepared.
The work request is used in IFS/Maintenance, and in IFS/Service Management.
