Create Object (WO Quotation)

Explanation

Use this activity to enter information on a new equipment object when entering information on a work order quotation.

Prerequisites

Before the information on a new equipment object is entered, the following must have been completed:

• For a functional object, the object level must have been entered in Equipment Basic Data
• For a serial object, the part number must have been entered in IFS/Part Catalog.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, a new equipment object is created in IFS/Equipment. Only some basic information on the object can be entered in this activity. You can add information on the object via Functional Object or Serial Object

Procedure

Use the following procedure to enter a new equipment object:

1. In Prepare Work Order Quotation, the Prepare/General tab, right click and then click New Equipment Object .This opens the New Object dialog box.
2. The Site field displays the user's default site. Use the List button to change to another site that the user is connected to in Sites per User.
3. In the Object ID and Description fields, enter an object ID and a description for the object.
4. In the Object Level field, use the List button to select a value.
5. In the Part No. field, use the List button to select a value. 
6. In the Serial No. field, enter the serial number.
7. Confirm the information. An object identity is automatically created as a combination of the part no. and the serial no.
