Start an Operation

Explanation

This activity is used to start an operation. When an operation is set to the Started status, it indicates that the operation or subtask from IFS/Vehicle Information Management (IFS/VIM) has been selected manually for work execution. The operation status Started is most important when it comes to work monitoring tasks.

When the first operation is set to Started, the work order to which it is connected will be automatically set to the Started status, if the work order is not already in this status.

If dependencies exist between operations on a work order, you will not be allowed to start a successor work order until the predecessor is in either the Work Done or Finished status.

Prerequisites

To perform this activity, the operation and the work order to which it is connected must have been released.
