Perform Inspector Sign Off

Explanation

This activity is used to sign off operations or subtasks (from IFS/Vehicle Information Management) having Inspector sign off requirements. When this activity is performed, and license requirements are defined, the system will check whether the current user fulfills requirements for performing inspector sign off, after which the operation or subtask will be signed off. User licenses are defined in Strategic HR and requires the component IFS/Human Resources to be installed.

When an inspector sign off is performed, and there are no more sign offs to be performed on the operation, the status of the operation will be changed automatically to Finished.

Note: The person performing an inspector sign off cannot be the same person who performed executor sign off.

Prerequisites

• The operation or subtask must exist in the Work Done status.
• Inspector sign off requirements must have been defined on the operation or subtask.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, an inspector sign off is performed on the operation or subtask. If there are no more sign offs to be performed, the operation is moved to the Finished status.

Procedure

1. Open the Prepare Work Order, Report In Work Order or the Work Order Execution Logic window and query (F3) for the desired work order.
2. Click the Operations tab.
3. Select the desired operation line, right-click, and then click Perform Inspector Sign Off. If the security checkpoint is enabled, the Authentication Request dialog box opens.
4. Enter your user ID and password.
5. Click OK.

Note: You can also perform an inspector sign off in the Sign Off Requirements tab found under the above mentioned Operations tab.
