Enter Standard Jobs

Explanation

Use this activity to connect multiple standard jobs to a work order. This is useful if you want to create work orders for typical, frequently performed jobs, that use the same kind of resources, i.e., personnel and material. After connecting a standard job, all data previously entered for the standard job is copied to the work order. You can also enter a standard text if you want to use a typical work description only. Note: Route Standard Jobs can only be connected to route work orders, and separate standard jobs can only be connected to separate work orders.

Standard jobs can be selected from the list of corrective actions defined for the item class which is connected to the work order if necessary.

As a result of this activity, all information regarding operations, materials, tools and facilities, and documents that are entered in a standard job will be copied to the work order.

Select Standard Jobs from Items Class

Procedure

To enter predefined standard jobs directly for the work order:

  1. Open the Prepare Work Order or Report in Work Order window.
  2. Create a new record (F5) or query for an existing one (F3).
  3. Click the Jobs tab and create a new record (F5), or select an appropriate job from the existing job lines.
  4. Enter a value in the Standard Job ID field. Use the List of Values to select a suitable value.
  5. Enter an appropriate revision in the Revision field if more than one revision exists for the standard job. Use the List of Values to select a suitable value.
  6. Enter the quantity of the standard job. At the time of creating a new record, the value in the Quantity field is set to 1 by default.
  7. Save the record (F12). 

To select standard jobs from the item class:

  1. Open the Prepare Work Order window.
  2. Query for the work order.
  3. Click the Jobs tab.
  4. Right-click and click Select Jobs from Item Class. The Select Standard Jobs from Item Class dialog box is opened.
  5. Select the Select check boxes of the rows containing the corresponding standard jobs that should be added to the work order. To add all the standard jobs in the table, select the Select All check box.
  6. Click OK.
