Connect Tools and Facilities to a Work Order in Work Order Quotation

Explanation

Use this activity to enter the Tools and Facilities required for the execution of the work order in work order quotations. Tools and Facilities are resources that are not personnel, but are still required for performing the maintenance.

If the status of the work order is set to Prepared or higher, a Tool and Facility ID must exist for each planned Tool and Facility line. If a pre-planned Tool and Facility line does not contain an ID or site, a dialog box appears (when you try to change the work order status) in which you must enter a suitable Tool and Facility ID.

Prerequisites

• Tools and Facilities must be defined and connected to sites in the Tools and Facilities Basic Data window.
• Operations and jobs must be defined prior to connecting required tools and facilities if the tool or facility is to be connected to either an operation or a job. The connection between a Tool and Facility and an operation is mandatory if the work order belongs to a VIM serial object.

A tool and facility line will be connected to the work order in the work order quotation.

Procedure

1. Open the Prepare Work Order Quotation window, and create a new record (F5) or query for an existing one (F3).
2. Click the Prepare tab. Create a new record (F5) or query for an existing one (F3). 
3. Click the Tools and Facilities tab and create a new record (F5).
4. In the Tool/Facility ID field, use the List of Values to enter a Tool and Facility ID. It is also possible to only enter a Tool and Facility type as pre-planning. If that is the case, use the List of Values in the Tool/Facility Type field and enter a Tool and Facility type.
5. In the Quantity field, specify (if known) the quantity of the tool or facility that will be used for the work order. 
6. In the Planned Hours field, specify (if known) the number of planned hours for the Tool and Facility. 
7. Enter a value in the Job ID field if you want to organize the tools and facilities lines according to jobs. Use the List of Values to select a suitable value.
8. Enter a value in the Operations field if you want to connect the tools and facilities line to a particular operation. Use the List of Values to select a suitable value.
9. Enter the sales part site and sales part number if you want to invoice the price of the tools and facilities to a customer. You can also specify a sales price if necessary.
10. Specify a value in the Discount field if a discount is applicable.
11. Specify the time period during which the tools and facilities will be in use, in the From Date/Time and To Date/Time fields if necessary. 
12. Save the record (F12).
