Define Scheduling Type

Explanation

This activity is used to define scheduling types. For each scheduling type you can enter the values which should be used as an input when calculating SLAs (service level agreements) in the Scheduling Engine.

Prerequisites

To perform this activity, the company must have been set up in IFS/Enterprise.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, SLAs can be defined with valid scheduling types.

Procedure

  1. Open the Scheduling Type window and create a new record (F5).
  2. In the Scheduling Type field, enter the identity of the scheduling type.
  3. In the Description field, enter a description of the scheduling type.
  4. In the Start Proportion field, enter the start proportion value. A value between 0 and 1 is allowed. The default value is set to 1 but can be changed if necessary.
  5. In the End Proportion field, enter the end proportion value. A value between 0 and 1 is allowed. The default value is set to 1 but can be changed if necessary.
  6. In the Curve Shape field, enter a value for the curve shape that is to be associated with the scheduling type. A value between 0.1 and 10 is allowed. The default value is set to 1 but can be changed if necessary.
  7. In the Activity Ageing Factor field, enter a value for the activity ageing factor. A value between 1 and 3 is allowed. The default value is set to 1 but can be changed if necessary.
  8. Select the Generate Jeopardy Exceptions check box if it is to be an input for the SLA calculation. This check box is selected by default but can be cleared if necessary.
  9. Save the information (F12).
