Create Connected Work Orders
Explanation
Use this activity to create a new work order and connect
it to a superior work order.
Prerequisites
The parent work order should be retrieved in the
Structure
for Work Order window.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, a new work order is
created and included in a structure. All work orders connected to a
superior work order have to be
completed before the parent work order's status is changed to Finished.

Procedure
- Open the
Prepare Work Order,
and create a new record (F5) or query for an existing one (F3). Right- click
on the window and click Structure.
- Once the
Structure for Work Order,
window appears right-click on the window and click Create WO.
- In the Create Work Order under Parent dialog box,
enter a
short description in the New WO Directive field.
- Enter values in the Planned Start and Planned
Finish fields.
- In the Maint.Org. field, enter a suitable
maintenance organization that would be responsible for the work order. Click
List to select a suitable value.
- Enter a customer in the Customer field
if you are using IFS/Service Management. Click List to select a
suitable value.
- Click OK.
