Create and Connect Work Order (Graphical)

Explanation

Use this activity to create a new work order and connect it to a superior work order.

Prerequisites

The superior work order should be retrieved in the Work Order Structure window.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, a new work order is created and included in a structure. All work orders connected to a superior work order have to be completed before the superior work order's status is changed to Finished.

Procedure

1. Open the Prepare Work Order window and create a new record (F5) or query for an existing one (F3). Right-click and click Work Order Structure.
2. In the Work Order Structure window, select a work order for which you want to create a child work order, right-click and then click Create WO.
3. In the Create Work Order under Parent dialog box, enter a short description in the New WO Directive field.
4. Enter values in the Planned Start and Planned Finish fields.
5. In the Maint.Org. field, enter a suitable maintenance organization that would be responsible for the work order. Click List to select a suitable value.
6. Enter a customer in the Customer field if you are using IFS/Service Management. Click List to select a suitable value.
7. Click OK.

Note: You can also open Work Order Structure from IFS/Navigator. The left part of the window shows all work orders that are included in structures.
