Work Order and Object Analysis—Exercises

Required Data

Exercise Name

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to familiarize you with the required data that is used in the exercises below.

  1. Create work orders for Object 31, Paper Machine, and its underlying objects. The work orders should be finished with reported costs.
  2. Create work orders with customer agreement and cost and revenue postings. The work orders should be finished. The postings should be transferred to the customer order, which should be closed.

General exercises for: Prepare and Plan Work Order, Prepare and Plan Service Order.

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to show you how to extract, separate, and analyze information registered on equipment objects and work orders.

Work Order and Object Analysis

  1. Open the Equipment Object Cost/Revenue Analysis window.
  2. Click the Query button on the toolbar, and enter the query criteria for Object 31, Paper Machine.
  3. Expand the graphical object structure, and view the object information.
  4. Look at the costs for this year, last year, and previous years.
  5. Select the cost types to be displayed, right-click, and then click Cost Graph.
  6. Open the Work Order Cost Analysis window.
  7. You would like to know all the costs related to the Maintenance Organization during the current year. Print a hard copy of the total.
  8. Open the Work Order Cost/Revenue Analysis window.
  9. You believe that there may have been many other jobs related to all the valid customer agreements. Do some analysis to determine which customer agreement had the highest costs and whether it was profitable.
