Below is a list of tips and tricks for the Training Administration course. Click one of the items below to see information that may be helpful to you as you take the course.
Use the Course Specifications window as a course catalogue.
Use the Training Events window as a training schedule. This window also displays the number of available seats for a specific training event.
Try to let your attendees schedule their training events on different dates. The reason is to avoid that participants and courses will be included in different training events on the same date which might be confusing in follow-up etc.
You can only update an employee’s competency level if the employee has attended and passed all mandatory courses for the specified competency element and level. Several courses may be defined as mandatory, as indicated on the Competency Obtained tab in the Course Specification window, and therefore the participant would have to complete all of them to update his or her competency.
This problem may be avoided if all mandatory courses are included in one training event. Your students could, for instance, include each other's courses and probably also the ones already defined in the basic data, as long as these are defined as mandatory for the required competency level.
If you are not familiar with the Racing database, it could be of interest for you to check the users and position structure. Make sure that each user in the exercises is supervisor of several employees.
You should also point out that all entered basic data need to start with the participant's initials which makes it easier for them to use their own data.

To use the web functionality and register for training events or view a record of completed training, the participant should log on as himself or herself (e.g., Alain), not as IFSAPP.
