Main Exercises

Purpose: The purpose of these exercise is to set up the basic data required for running the training administration process.

Course and Course Material Category

  1. Open Course and Course Material Category and populate the window.
  2. Create a new record and enter a new course category ID, course category name, and course category description, starting with your initials.
  3. Save the information.
  4. Click the Course Material Category tab and populate it.
  5. Create a new record. Then enter a new course material category, starting with your initials, and add a description.
  6. Save the information.

Training Room and Equipment

  1. Open Training Room and Equipment and populate the window.
  2. Create a new record and enter new training equipment as well as a description and the quantity available for reservation, starting with your initials.
  3. Save the information.
  4. Click the Training Room Type tab and populate it.
  5. Create a new record. Then enter a new training room type and a description, starting with your initials.
  6. Save the information.
  7. Click the Training Room tab and populate it.
  8. Enter a new training room, starting with your initials. Add type, location, capacity, and other information.
  9. Save the information.
  10. Click the Training Room Equipment tab and populate it.
  11. In the Training Room Name column, select a training room. 
  12. Enter the training equipment available in your training room by using the List of Values.
  13. Add the quantity of equipment you have available in this room.
  14. Save the information.

General Training Evaluation

  1. Open General Training Evaluation and populate the window. 
  2. Create a new record and enter a new training evaluation criterion as well as rating, description, and score. Start with your initials.
  3. Save the information. 
  4. Click the Evaluation Category tab and populate it.
  5. Enter a new category and select an evaluation group, starting with your initials. Save the information.
  6. Click the Evaluation Question tab and populate it.
  7. Create a new record and enter a new question, training evaluation category, and group. Start with your initials. Save the information.

Note: The questions within the Participant evaluation group will be answered by the teacher, and the questions within the Training Event evaluation group will be answered by the participants.

  1. Click the Evaluation Question Template tab and populate it.
  2. Create a new record. Then enter a new evaluation template name, starting with your initials. Add questions by using List of Values.
  3. Save the information.

Training Costs

  1. Open Training Costs and populate the window.
  2. Create a new record and enter a new cost category name as well as course cost name, description, and unit. Start with your initials.
  3. Save the information.

Overview – Courses

  1. Open Course Specificationsand populate the window.
  2. Define two courses for either Project Management, Project Risk Management or Project Planning—one basic and one advanced. The course ID should start with your initials.
  3. Save the information.

Trainer

  1. Open Trainer and populate the window. 
  2. Create a new record and enter yourself as a trainer. Use your initials for the person ID.
  3. Add information in the General, Address, and Licenses tabs. Enter your courses, defined in previous exercise Overview - Courses, in the Course to Teach tab. 
  4. Save the information.

Note: You can enter a new trainer in either the Trainer window or the Course SpecificationTrainers tab. The information registered in either window will automatically be copied to the other.

Course Specification

  1. Open Course Specification and populate the window. 
  2. Select one of your courses and specify that the course duration is two days and that the course has room for four participants.
  3. Add course description, course objective, target audience, and other information.
  4. Save the information.
  5. Add information in the Equipment Requirement, Trainers, Course Syllabus, Course Evaluation, and Supported Competency Level tabs.
  6. Save the information.
  7. Create a new record and enter a course specification for your second course as well.

Training Institution

  1. Open Training Institution and populate the window. 
  2. Create a new record and enter a new training institution name, starting with your initials.
  3. Add information in the General and Address tabs. Add your courses in the Offered Courses tab.
  4. Save the information.

External Participant

  1. Open External Participant and populate the window.
  2. Create a new record and enter two new external participants with information in the General and Address tabs, starting with your initials.
  3. Save the information.

Report Templates

  1. Open Report Template and populate the window.
  2. Choose either of Template ID 1, 2 or 3. Edit the fields.
  3. Save the information.
  4. Note ! This will reflect the information in the reports Course Confirmation (1), Course Invitation (2) and Course Cancellation (3) that are started from RMB in Training Event/Participant
