Basic Data Setup

Service Contract

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set up the basic data required for running this particular functionality.

  1. Open the Service Contract Basic Data window and set up the contract type and SLA values.

General exercise for Service Contract—Basic Data Requirements Exercises

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to define a service contract header and to connect a service level agreement and additional customers.

Define Service Contract Header

  1. Open the Service Contract window and create a new record (F5).

Note: The contract type you set as default in the BDR exercises will be displayed in the Contract Type field.

  1. Enter OFFICE EQUIP and Office Equipment Service as the contract identity and description in the respective fields.
  2. Enter CUST1 as the customer.
  3. Enter suitable values in the Coordinator, Contract Manager and Expiry Date fields.
  4. Save the information (F12).

Enter Valid Sites

  1. Open the Service Contract window and query (F3) for your service contract.
  2. Click the Valid Sites tab and create a new record (F5). Note: The service contract site is already a record.
  3. In the Site field, use the List of Values to select the preferred site.
  4. Optionally, use the right-click option Get all Sites to enter all the other sites of the company at once.
  5. Save the information (F12).

Enter SLA Values

  1. Open the Service Contract window and query (F3) for your service contract.
  2. Click the SLA tab and create a new record (F5).
  3. If the work order is applicable for a certain work type, use the List of Values in the Work Type field to select the work type.
  4. In the Criteria field, select the SLA criteria.
  5. In the Value field, use the List of Values to select the criteria value for the SLA. If the line is valid for all values on the work order, this field should be left empty.
  6. In the SLA ID field, use the List of Values to select the SLA you created as part of the basic data requirements exercises.
  7. Save the information (F12).

Connect Additional Customers

  1. Click the Service Contract/Additional Customers tab and create a new record (F5).
  2. Enter CUST2 as the customer identity.
  3. Save the information (F12).
