Show Document Structure in Navigator
In this exercise, you will learn how to display a document structure in the
graphical navigator.
- Open the Document Revision window, and query for the document for
which you checked in the files in the exercise above.
- Right-click and
then click
Document Structure.
- Click Show in Navigator.
Note: The Document Structure Navigator window opens,
displaying the document structure. It is basically the
Document Revision
window but with a graphical navigator
appearing on the left of the window.
- Expand the top node with the main document to reveal the subdocuments on
the next level.
- Click one of the subdocuments. The corresponding details will be displayed
in the window area.
- Right-click the navigator and click Customize Display. This will
enable you to select what to display in the navigator; the document keys, the
document title, or both. Try out all the combinations to experience how it
works.
- Try using some of the normal operations, for example, View or
Print, in the window area.
Note: If any of the files connected to a document in the structure are
checked out, this will be displayed by a differently colored icon in the
navigator. A green icon indicates a document checked out by you, and a red icon
indicates a document checked out by another person.
Show Document Structure in Overview
In this exercise, you will learn how to display all the documents in a document
structure in an overview.
- Open the Document Revision window, and query for the document for
which you checked in the files in the exercise above.
- Right-click and
then click Document Structure.
- Click Show in Overview.
The Document Revisions window opens, displaying all the documents in the structure.
- Try out some of the operations that work on multiple documents. To do
this, first select the documents with which you want to work and then
perform the
operation.
For example, select two of the documents in the overview, right-click, point
to Status, and then click Approve.
Note: This method can be used if you want to
execute certain operations on some documents in a structure, but not all.
