Course Description for IFS Sales & Marketing Client

This course will give you a good understanding of how to use the IFS Sales & Marketing Client; from adding information about accounts, contacts and activities, through setting up advanced selections and views, to the creation of campaigns, use of mail merge functions, document management and synchronization of databases.

The course consists of five chapters, each of which contains one or more lessons and associated exercises.

Interface and Basic Functions

This chapter offers an introduction to IFS Sales & Marketing with a focus on the user interface in the Windows client. The first lesson describes how to log on to the IFS Sales & Marketing Client and then explains the various panes, icons, menus as well as the database structure and shortcut keys. The other lessons focus on the basic functions such as adding, editing, deleting information, calendar functionality as well as performing a quick search, an extended search,  and exporting data.

Selections and Views

This chapter consists of three lessons that outline the Selections and Views functionality, which offers you a powerful tool to find and display information in your database. You will learn how to use selections as an effective way of targeting customers and contact groups, and how to use selection operators to tailor your selections according to your information needs. You will also learn how to run advanced selections that have been created through the IFS Sales & Marketing Administrator.

Prerequisites

You should be familiar with the basic functionality of IFS Sales & Marketing described under Interface and Basic Functions.

Campaign Management and Mail Merge

This chapter consists of three lessons that show you how to use IFS Sales & Marketing for creating and managing campaigns. In a few simple steps, you will learn how to define a target group, create campaign activities and events, as well as generate invitations and newsletters. You will also learn how to record and analyze feedback about your campaign.

Document Management

Consisting of one lesson, this chapter shows you how to handle documents in IFS Sales & Marketing. You will learn how to add, edit and delete documents to and from the database, how to save a document using a file path as well as how to use IFS Document Manager.

You should have a basic knowledge of IFS Sales & Marketing.

Synchronization 

This chapter consists of two lessons. The first explains how to synchronize server database and local databases. You will learn how to create a local copy of the server database, which allows you to work offline with your customer information. The trainer should perform the synchronization exercise and create a local copy of the RACE database for each student, prior to commencement of the training.

The second lesson explains how to use the Discrepancy Utility to reconcile discrepancies that may occur during synchronization.
