Synchronization—Exercises
Main Exercise
Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to
show how to synchronize data between your server and local database.
Windows:
File Menu
Synchronize- Creating a New Local Database
- On the File Menu click Synchronize. The
Synchronization Wizard will appear.
- Select
Create a
new local database.

Select New and browse to the desktop, name
your local database as SMKTrainingDB.mdb and save type as Access files and
save.
- Click Next.
- Select
the Race database you wish to synchronize with
and click Next.
- Select
All data and select the Include external data and include
documents check boxes.
- Click Start to begin synchronization.

You will get a message once synchronization is
finished successfully.
Synchronize - An Existing Local Database
- On the File Menu click Synchronize. The
Synchronization Wizard will appear.
- Select Synchronize to an existing local
database.
- Browse to the desktop to find the database you
created earlier (SMKTrainingDB.mdb) and select Open.
- Click Next.
- Select
the Race database you wish to synchronize with
and click Next.
- Select the Include external
data and Include documents check boxes.
- Click Start to begin synchronization.
- You will get a message once synchronization is
finished successfully.
