Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of these exercises is to show you how the bidding and estimating is done on a sales contract.

Bidding on a Sales Contract

  1. Open the Sales Contract window and and query for your contract. The contract needs to be in the Enquiry state.
  2. Right click on the contract and point to the Bid Status menu option. Select Bid.
  3. Observe that the Bid Status field on the General tab will be updated with the Decided to Bid status.

Entering No Bid Information for a Sales Contract

  1. Open the Sales Contract window and and query for your contract. The contract should not be awarded.
  2. Right click on the contract and point to the Bid Status menu option. Select Bid.
  3. In the No Bid Information dialog box, enter a Reason ID for deciding not to bid. You can also select from the pre-defined reasons by clicking on the List button.
  4. Enter an additional note if necessary in the Note field.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Observe that the Bid Status field on the General tab will be updated with the Decided Not To Bid status.

Estimating a Sales Contract

  1. Open the Sales Contract window and and query for your contract. The contract needs to be in the Enquiry state.
  2. Right click on the contract and point to the Status menu option. Select Estimate.
  3. Observe that the Status field on the sales contract header will be updated with Estimated.
