Basic Data Setup

Create Stored Sales Parts

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create stored sales parts and receive them into inventory in order to use them as complementary parts.

  1. Enter Race Car as Sales Part and with XX18-100 as Sales Part No.
  2. Enter T-Shirt as Sales Part and with XX98-100 as Sales Part No.
  3. Enter Poster as Sales Part and with XX98-101 as Sales Part No.
  4. Create relevant Inventory Locations.
  5. Create corresponding Inventory Parts
  6. Receive a sufficient number of parts of each into stock.

Connect Complementary Parts to Regular Sales Parts

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to connect complementary parts to parent parts.

  1. Connect the two complementary parts XX98-100 and XX98-101 to the parent part, XX18-100 Race Car.

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to use complementary selling when creating a new customer order or sales quotation.

Complementary Parts

IFS Racing wants to increase its sales income and has therefore started to sell complementary (supplementary) parts to the Race Car. They have chosen to focus on T-shirts and posters with pictures of famous drivers.

  1. Enter a customer order header or a sales quotation header with customer type normal, customer CSC Oslo, and wanted delivery date within three months.
  2. Enter other relevant information.
  3. Create an customer order line or a sales quotation line and indicate the sales part number XX18-100 and the quantity.
  4. Enter a quantity of at least one of the suggested complementary parts created above and click OK.
  5. Review the number of order lines or quotation lines.
