Working with Risk Analyses' Statuses—Exercises

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of these exercises is to familiarize working through a Risk Analysis using Risk Analysis statuses.

Risk Analysis Statuses

Starting the Risk Analysis

1. Open the Risk Analysis Navigator window (alternatively the Risk Details window).
2. Make sure that your project has the Preliminary or Waiting in Analysis status.
3. Right-click anywhere in the header portion of the window, point to Status, and then click Start Analysis.
4. Note that the status of the risk analysis has been changed to Analysis in Progress.

Confirming the Risk Analysis

1. Open the Risk Analysis Navigator window (alternatively the Risk Details window).
2. Make sure that your project has the Analysis in Progress status.
3. Right-click anywhere in the header portion of the window, point to Status, and then click Confirm Analysis.
4. Note that the status of the risk analysis has been changed to Analyzed.
5. Note that the Revision number is incremented by one.
6. Navigate to the Risk Cost Exposure Tracking window and observe that a record has been inserted for the newly analyzed risk analysis.

Closing the Risk Analysis

1. Open the Risk Analysis Navigator window (alternatively the Risk Details window).
2. Make sure that your project has the Analyzed or Approved status.
3. Right-click anywhere in the header portion of the window, point to Status, and then click Close.
4. Note that the status of the risk analysis has been changed to Closed.
