Receipt Locations—Exercises

IMPORTANT
It is extremely important that you set up and work within your own site to maintain your data integrity. If you work within any other site, you will compromise your own exercise data as well as the data of other students. Predictable exercise results require that your data be isolated in your own site.

Basic Data Setup

Inventory Locations

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set up the inventory locations that you will use as default receipt locations.

Windows:
Inventory Locations

  1. Open the Inventory Locations window and create inventory locations of these types: Arrival, Quality Assurance, Pallet Arrival, and Pallet Quality.

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to enter default arrival and inspection locations for your site.

Procurement Basic Data

Connecting Default Locations to a Site

  1. Open the Procurement Basic Data window and click the Receipt Locations tab.
  2. Create a new record (F5).
  3. In the Site field, enter the short name for the site or select it from the List of Values. The description of the site will appear automatically.
  4. In the Default Location No field, enter the location number or select it from the List of Values. The location type and location group of the selected location will appear automatically.
  5. Save your changes (F12).
  6. Repeat steps 2 through 5 to enter default locations of other location types.
